Genalysis Phase 5 Project

Genalysis, now part of the Intertek group, is a world leader in providing analytical services to the mining industry. Intertek provides global testing, inspection and certification services. Early in 2007 Genalysis placed an order on IMP for an additional robotic sample preparation cell. This, being the 5th automated system ordered by Genalysis from IMP , became known as the Genalysis phase 5 project.

Design and manufacture in Germany took four months. The system was factory tested in Germany and then transported to the Genalysis Perth facility where it was installed. Within three weeks of delivery of the system to site the first production samples were being processed through the system.

This new “phase 5” robotic automated sample preparation facility is capable of preparing up to 1800 iron ore samples per day. The system has not missed a beat since installation and commissioning.
